Helen Chamberlain joined Woodlands Dental Practice in 2018, and is a qualified Dental Therapist and Hygienist having completed her training at Kings College Hospital, London.

Having worked within a variety of different dental clinics Helen has had vast clinical exposure and experience. She has had the opportunity to work with and be trained by highly experienced clinicians and consultants who are known to be the best in their field.

Helen has completed a vocational training year in dental therapy run by Health Education England, Thames Valley to enhance her clinical skills in this field. This also involved attending monthly continued professional development days, in order to remain up to date with all guidelines and clinical procedures in line with best clinical practice.

As a therapist Helen can perform fillings on primary and secondary teeth, take impressions, take radiographs, place temporary dressings and re-cement temporary crowns, perform extractions of primary teeth, and pulpotomies of primary teeth.

Providing a high standard of preventative oral care, and building long lasting and trusting relationships with patients is important to Helen.

Helen particularly enjoys treating children and also working with nervous patients to help them overcome their fears. Helen believes in the importance of taking the time to find the root cause of any worries or phobias a patient may have prior to any treatment. Once a patient feels calm and reassured, treatment can be taken in stages at the patients own pace.

In her spare time, Helen loves to practice yoga and pilates, she also enjoys reading and skiing.
